Rockford Geeks

Rockford Illinois Gamers

When checking my inbox this morning I found this very interesting message from EA. The EA store is now call Origin as well as the application itself. Following the foot steps of Valve they’ve added a social interface to connect with friends. You can even tie it into your Facebook account to help you connect to your other gaming friends.

I did take a look around the store, there are some deals but nothing that made me want to reach for my wallet. Battlefield 2 is still 19.99. That is a little over priced for a digital download of a game release in 2005. The best deals were expansion packs for some games, again a not anything to run out and buy…

So what’s the appeal? Well for me, library sharing. While they do not give any details yet we can only hope it mean lending your digital games to friends or family member.  A geek can dream, right?
